Greetings healthy people,

Tracy and CocoAs school holidays come to an end, the studio has got superbusy. Evening and early mornings are now fully booked with short waitlist, however I do have weekday daytime off-peak availability if you’d like to get a personalised exercise and nutrition programme up and running before the days start to get shorter (it will happen soon!).

Until then, enjoy the festival. This weekend I'll be cycling to Foodies Festival with empty pannier bags to fill with yummy goodness. Congratulations to last months’ Foodie’s winners, here are their delicious recipes...

Testimonial of the Month

I love helping folk find their fitness flow, and so satisfying when my clients start enjoying their exercise routine:
“I feel the main thing that Tracy helped me with was to help me establish the exercise regime of my choice - namely a variety, mostly outdoors and minimal equipment. I also strengthened my understanding of what my body's response is when undertaking increased levels of aerobic exercise for sustained periods. I found myself confiding life-long exercise difficulties with Tracy...she listens and offers forward looking suggestions and tips...the whole experience of personal training was really helpful. Thank you!” – Alison T, July 2016

It's Back! Resisting Temptation Hint of the Month: Take Food with You

The popular ‘Resisting temptation’ hint returns with one of my favourite piece of advice. Too often folk tell me that they can’t resist junk food when they’re at work (see pic below).
Be sure to take healthy snacks (that you like) to work each day with you. Your favourite fruit, a small container of nuts / seeds, oatcakes, even a boiled egg. Be sure to eat your healthy snacks first before heading to the vending machine, and preferably before you get starving hungry. By having good (low GI - slow burning) food handy you can help avoid cravings from your blood sugar level dropping. But remember to pack snacks the night before, then remember to take them to work and enjoy!

And Finally... Pokemon is GO

The newest fad with the kids is the Pokemon GO game that utilises Google maps on smartphones. It has teenagers wandering the streets, trying to collect pokemons. There are unexpected benefits of getting gamers out in the fresh air, and here’s an Australian article about it. Here's a Women's Health article on how to make your pokemon hunt more energetic. I'd love to see a version that connects with a heart rate monitor for maximum aerobic benefit, perhaps in the future...

Have a happy and healthy August,

Tracy :)
